The Elements Of Style is a book on reading and writing skills by author William Strunk Jr. This book is the perfect foundation for free writing, and is usually believed to be indispensable for both students and authors. In this book, Strunk points out the qualities required in proper American English style and he does so in a shrewd but graceful manner. Comprehensive and evergreen, this book is arguably the best there has been of its type. In The Elements of Style, William Strunk Jr. emphasized on a few particular questions of usage along with the development of clear writing. One of the advices he would concentrate on is "Make every word tell" and as a result the 17th principle of composition has the lucid instruction: "Omit needless words”.
