Historically, the so-called nationalism has failed in nations that are largely diverse and comprised of people of multi-ethnic origins. Therefore, if chauvinistic nationalism is inculcated in education, it would only mean that it s for the purpose of creating a citizenry per the desires of the nation-state and its allies like specially cultivated communities and market forces.
That is why, if education has to address its broad-based universal dimensions, it ought to be ‘society driven’. The National Higher Education Qualification framework bears features that are totalitarian in nature, chauvinistic, anti-social, undemocratic, and against states’ rights, and therefore it must be eliminated.
