After reading AyyanarEdadi's collection of short stories titled "Madurai stories" one would easily think that this collection gives us a feeling that we have visited the villages around Madurai city and seen the paddy fields in person. Here are fourteen short stories seen in the collection which basically carry out the culture and tradition of the land. it also gives us the truth that the people living in these land dont know anything but giving their utmost lobour to the field. Their livelihood, life span, pleasure and sorrow everything depends upon the the land and the yield it gives in turn for the farmers.

This collection of short stories vividly depicts the daily lives of Madurai's villagers in ways that resonate universally. The challenges of adaptation and survival, whether in Madurai or Madagascar, are timeless human experiences. While names and languages may differ, the underlying struggles and triumphs are shared by all. My heartfelt congratulations to Ayyanar Edadi, the author, for skillfully reflecting the life and culture of his homeland through these wonderful creations. These are not just stories; they are snapshots of real-life incidents, beautifully woven to transport readers into the soul of rural Madurai.
