When it comes to retirement planning, most of us are concerned with calculating the amount of money needed to live comfortably during retirement. Some may go further andthink about how to live a healthy life. Both these plans are easy to articulate. This is because for most kinds of calculations and articulation, we use the conscious mind. The fact remains that the conscious mind is always flickering, unless someone is a Yogi, in the true sense of the word. However, a true Yogi is not even concerned with retirement planning because s/he lives in the present and is in a state of permanent bliss.
For others, the actual cause of anxieties, insecurities and other emotions related to money are manifestations of the sub-conscious mind. These could be manifesting in the form of concerns such as, "Will I get enough respect?"; "Who will take care of me when I am not well?"; "What will happen if I am not able to perform my routine chores on my own?"; etc. Because these concerns manifest from the sub-conscious mind, it is difficult or even impossible to articulate them; yet they create havoc, in a subtle manner.
Life Planning for Retirees Money and Beyond discusses how to deal with the conscious and sub-conscious mind so that you can undertake a comprehensive retirement planning exercise.
