Ladybird Tales: Pinocchio is a book by Ladybird about the famous animated character Pinocchio. Pinocchio is a fictional character and the hero of the evergreen tale of growing up. Geppetto is a woodcarver who carves Pinocchio out of wood and makes Pinocchio into a wooden puppet. While he is a puppet, Pinocchio dreams of becoming a real boy. Pinocchio's character is also one who tells lies and makes up stories for various reasons. This enchanting fairy tale is of a puppet who walks, talks and enjoys many adventures in his young life, until he is deemed fit to achieve his heart's desire: to be a real boy. Pinocchio is popular for his short nose which has a tendency to grow longer when he starts telling a lie. Pinocchio is given an unusual dress sense; his clothes are made out of flowered paper, his shoes are wooden and his hat is fashioned out of bread.
