Ray has it all worked out. He would go to India, take care of his ailing father and return to his life in San Jose. His father would join him in a couple of months, and that would be that.
But that's not how things pan out. His father dies. An old friend tells him why he died. Things take a bizarre turn when Ray finds himself drawn into the seedy underbelly of Tamil films, and up against a man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Should Ray go back to his meticulously constructed life in the US? Or chuck it all up and take on the man who broke into his father's heart and stole his dreams?
Fathers and sons, films and friendships, love and betrayal, and the bittersweet nature of coming home - Jump Cut has it all. This page-turner is at once funny, moving and suspenseful, with a deliciously satisfying sting in its tail.
