Mahakavi Subramanya Bharati (1882-1921), is remembered for his simple but poignant, often fiery Tamil poetry which inspired a whole generation of Indians with its fearlessness and beauty.
Passionately involved in the freedom movement, he longed for India�??s independence, but did not live to see it. In a short span of 39years, Bharati left behind a great body of work that reflects his mastery of the Tamil language and poetic genius.
