A first-time author, Amutha Kannan pens her memoirs, spanning 30 years in ‘Author at Fifty’. The work is a gift to herself for her 50th birth year. Know Amutha as a granddaughter, daughter, niece, colleague, friend, Air Force spouse, mother, journalist, professional, and finally, an author. Read about the joys and challenges she faced during her husband’s postings and travels across India, even as she pursued a career in journalism and raised two children. It is an honest rendering of the path she chose to walk on. Amutha writes about how the “silent ranks” (spouses of Defence personnel) live life. How many of them walk hand in hand with their husbands, set up homes in unfamiliar and remote places, put and pull kids out of schools, live away from their hometowns, celebrate every occasion because they know not what the morrow will bring, and put their careers on hold. A few of them dared to reinvent themselves – without giving up – to pursue their passion as they moved with their husband from State to State, posting after posting. Amutha Kannan is an award-winning journalist and content creator. She has had stints in corporate communication and journalism in Larsen & Toubro Limited and The Hindu, respectively. As a freelancer, she also wears the hats of a media resource consultant, speaker, and guest faculty. Amutha is an Air Force spouse and has lived in eight States in the last 24 years.
